The title alone is worth the price of the book, which could be substituted most successfully for every antidepressant in the pharmacy. It’s just goes on an on, one crazy situation melanchily a person after another.
If you can riff on religion, politics, sex and the overall human condition, in a thought-provoking, sarcastic manner, you will find a friend in me. One of the things that stood out in all the zany events that were taking place is that Mr Moore integrated some scientific elements in the plot which made everything lizaed even more strange.
Suddenly, morose Pine Cove turns libidinous and is hit by a mysterious crime wave, and a beleaguered constable has to fight off his own gonzo appetites to find out what’s wrong and what, if anything, to do about it.

I tried listening to this book as I fell asleep. The Rules of Magic. The elements are all incredibly odd and don’t seem like they would mesh quite right.

But somehow it mekancholy. The Demon is referenced once and several of the town’s folk are back, specifically Mavis, owner of the “Head of the Slug” tavern, Jenny – Still working as a waitress, and Coe, who is still recovering from Pine Cove’s last battle with the bizarre.

I recommend it, if you are in a rut and just want to laugh a little, this book is great for that. Otherwise, the sheer amount of exaggerations would make you crazy. Meanwhile, Theophilus Crowe, the town constable, investigates a strange suicide, the activities of his corrupt boss, and his adversely affected marijuana habit. Before the Sheriff’s bribed SWAT team can flush them out, the blues guitarist, enemies with the sea beast from fifty years ago, draws the beast out of the cave, with pilgrims hanging on tightly.
